Entry
Requirements
Undergraduate
Courses (BA,
BSc, LLB, MBBS, MEng)
Course entry requirements to study in the
UK vary according to the course and institution. For many undergraduate
courses you need qualifications that prove you will be able
to study successfully. Many international qualifications meet
entrance requirements to various undergraduate courses. UniAdmission
will assist you in establishing the approximate UK equivalent
of your qualifications.
To study in the UK you must normally be at
least 17 years old (18 for medicine, in general) before the
degree programme starts. The university also needs to be satisfied
that you satisfy the entry requirements for the particular degree
programme that you intend to study. A broad knowledge of education,
plus an acceptable level of English literacy is expected.
The typical qualification in England and Wales
is Advanced Level (A-level), while in Scotland the typical entry
qualification is Scottish Higher. The entry requirements are
an indication of the minimum grades/points required for each
qualification. All applicants are selected on individual academic
ability and therefore offer grades/points may vary. Details
of the minimum course requirements are often different according
to the department and popularity of the course at times. Hence
early application is better. However, universities accept many
other qualifications besides A-levels such as foundation and
access courses (one year pre-university courses). Just contact
UniAdmission and we will advise you of the suitability of your
qualifications. If the university requires further qualifications
we will advise you on the route to these qualifications. Just
refer to our Foundation Courses. Relevant work experience can
also be considered as an alternative to access courses.
Candidates who are in any doubt about the
acceptability of their qualifications should contact UniAdmission
before applying, giving details of subjects passed and to be
taken.
Application
For all full-time courses at any UK University you must advise
UniAdmission and we will forward UCAS forms to you. There is
an application fee that is payable to UCAS. Applications for
entry to university in Autumn should ideally be made between
1 September and 15 January of the previous year. However, even
if you are late, just contact UniAdmission and we will give
you all the help. We have in the past placed many students who
have submitted their applications several months late. Just
leave that to us.
Who makes the decisions on my application?
UCAS are not involved in the selection process, this is a matter
for individual Admissions Tutors for the course(s) for which
a candidate applies.
But UCAS can take too long?
That is no problem. Once you have submitted an application to
us, contact us so that we can make direct enquiries through
our channels to find out if the university is likely to give
you an offer. For more details on how to apply, please visit
our Apply Section.
If the process seems overwhelming, remember:
there are usually just FIVE STEPS
to accomplish:
| 1 |
A-levels or Foundation access courses |
A-levels or equivalents or Foundation access courses.
These need only be in the subject(s) for which you are applying,
but you should do your best to supplement them by wider
private reading. |
| 2 |
GCSE |
GCSE (General certificate of secondary
Education), Equivalent to TWAJIHYA. Five passes at grades
A-C, grades depending on the course you wish to study and
a preliminary or foundation Certificate. |
| 3 |
English Language |
Institutions will set their own English
language requirements for all courses. Usual requirements
are IELTS at grade 6, TOEFL (paper-based) 550, or Cambridge
CPE at grade C. |

References |
Approach two school referees and
ask each one to write a full reference on official letterhead
of your school. |

Complete our standard on-line application
form. |
The UniAdmission
Undergraduate ON-LINE Application can simplify the application
process. It lets you apply online to some of the best undergraduate
programs in Britain, checks for accuracy and completeness. The
on-line form is standard and is acceptable to all our partner
universities.
Important Note: It is important
to ensure that you send all the above documents, as the delay
caused in having to seek any missing documents from you might
adversely delay and prejudice your application. If your A-levels
or equivalents or Foundation access courses verification are
to be obtained, any offer made to you will be conditional.
