Entry
Requirements
Postgraduate
Taught: Master of Business Administration (MBA)
 |
Course entry requirements to study in
the UK vary according to the course and institution. For
many MBA courses you need qualifications that prove you
will be able to study successfully. Many international
qualifications meet entrance requirements to all MBA courses.
|
UniAdmission will assist you in establishing
the approximate UK equivalent of your qualifications.
Most business schools in the UK offer only MBA for experienced
managers and professionals, certainly the top ones, will require
at least two years' work experience. However some business schools
offer two MBA streams:
The MBA for recent graduates:
The entry requirement is normally a first or second class honours
degree from a UK university, or an equivalent professional or
overseas qualification in an appropriate subject. For most of
the programmes the range of appropriate subjects is very broad
and includes many apparently non-relevant disciplines. If you
have qualifications other than a degree, with relevant professional
experience and evidence of ability, you will also be considered.
See list of requirements from the postgraduate taught courses.

The major difference to MBA courses for recent graduates is
that work experience of at least 2-3 years is required. See
the following for a list of requirements for experienced managers.
If the process seems overwhelming, remember:
there are usually just FIVE STEPS
to accomplish:
| 1 |
First Degree |
First degree in a relevant subject, grades depend on course
and quality of institution. |
| 2 |
Work experience |
Business Schools in the UK, and certainly the top ones,
will require at least two years' work experience. Approach
your manager at your company and ask him/her to write a
full reference using the official letterheaded paper of
the company. The reference should include how long you have
been working for them, your job description, position and
responsibilities. |
| 3 |
English Language |
Institutions vary in their English language entry requirements.
Usual requirements are: IELTS at grade 6.5, TOEFL (paper-based)
600, or Cambridge CPE at grade C. Some institution might
ask for GMAT. |
| 4 |
References |
Universities usually require two references, one should
be from one of your previous employers (see section on work
experience), while the second one should be an academic
