In-Country
Training
Our
providers are
able to
mount programmes in developing countries and transitional economies
to meet the specific needs of organisations or work groups. Usually,
such programmes are designed and mounted on a collaborative basis
with a local training institution. They can be "one-off",
but they will ideally run for several cycles and, at their conclusion,
the local institution will have the internal capacity to continue
the initiative without the need for our providers' training inputs.
In most cases, certificates are awarded by the provider university
to participants who successfully complete these programmes.
Recent
examples include:
- Electronic
government training for Jordanian public servants (partner:
Jordan Institute of Public Administration)
- Consultancy
skills and development of distance learning materials in Malaysia
(partner: INTAN)
- Gender
and development training in Mauritius
- Public
sector reform training for managers in Morocco (partner: Ministry
of Civil Service reform)
- Rural
project identification, monitoring and evaluation training for
a Myanmar NGO
- Management
development training in Pakistan (partner: British Council)
- Strategic
environmental assessment and development planning training in
Swaziland (partner: Swaziland Environment Authority)
- Retrenchment
management training for the Tanzanian public sector.
