PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING

Customised/Tailor-Made Training

UniAdmission is able to facilitate tailor-made programmes for individuals or for groups of participants in the UK or abroad. Programmes can either be "semi-customised" (based on the modification of specific existing training modules or programmes) or "fully-customised" (developed completely from scratch for the particular individual or group). Programmes normally range from one week to twelve weeks in length, depending on client needs. Programmes draw upon the resources of the Partner Universities and specialists from other organisations. Programmes can also be organised on a 'split-site' basis combining UK-based and in-country training.

IDPM is one of our Partner Institutions that can deliver extensive programmes. See below for recent examples:

  • Financial management information systems training for a Bangladesh NGO
  • Urban poverty alleviation training for staff from the Egyptian Ministry of Social Affairs
  • Enterprise finance and credit management training for young managers from Georgia
  • Environmental policy and project management training for senior environmental managers and policy-makers from India
  • Rural banking and finance training for senior staff from a group of Indian banks
  • Training in information systems for public sector managers from Jordan
  • Computer-supported project management training for staff from the Nigerian public sector
  • Public sector management and reform training for government officers from Swaziland
  • Privatisation training focused on financing and personnel issues for senior staff from Taiwan
  • Organisational change skills training for two Tanzanian ministries
  • Management services training for the Thai government

Additional elements that are integrated into the overall training programme can include:

  • fieldwork/study tours
  • organisational attachments
  • research or action projects
  • development of training materials for subsequent delivery by participants
  • provision of accommodation
  • provision of books and microcomputers
  • pre-course English language training
  • follow-up visits by staff

Certificates are awarded by the provider University to participants who successfully complete these programmes. For example participants of courses provided by IDPM will be awarded the University of Manchester certificate.
