PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING

Consultancy and Advisory Services

In addition to teaching and research activities, many of our Partner Universities seek to promote social and economic development through their extensive consultancy and advisory work. Most universities undertake consultancies for all major donor agencies and for many national governments and private organisations.

For example the work undertaken by IDPM at Manchester University Consultancy takes a number of forms:

  • consultancies on behalf of donors and governmental organisations
  • advisory roles related to policy and institutional development
  • commissioned research on major developmental issues
  • in-country training programmes designed specifically for clients
  • link arrangements with overseas academic training and research institutions
  • secondment of staff for contracted periods.
